Its tombs were cut between the 9th and 7th centuries BCE. It is situated on the rocky eastern slope of the Kidron Valley, facing the oldest part of Jerusalem. Silwan or Siloam (Arabic: سلوان ‎, romanized: Siloan, Hebrew: כְּפַר הַשִּׁילוֹחַ ‎, romanized: Kfar ha-Shiloaḥ, Greek: Σιλωὰμ, romanized: Siloam) is a predominantly Palestinian neighborhood in East Jerusalem, on the outskirts of the Old City of Jerusalem. The necropolis of Silwan is located on the eastern slope of the Kidron Valley, opposite the ”City of David” and the Temple Mount.
